Catering: - Ron Waro

The minutes of the last meeting were signed as agreed.

Welcome to Liz Laverick & Graham Fairclough from Wimbledon & Merton District who are visiting us tonight.

Matters Arising: -
County Cub Fun Day - Excellent. Considering there were so many cubs it was very well organised. There are some pictures on the GLSW website for anyone interested.

Swimming Gala  - Michèle had visited the scout section and proposed that with the exception of the width races and relays (due to time difficulties these are excluded) this year it would be the first 3 to finish in each race who would go through to the finals (if a final is necessary), the scout section had agreed to this proposal and the points to be awarded will be changed to reflect this. Each entrant will now get a point for entering a race. Cub section agreed to proposed changes. There will be no raffle this year.

Handicraft Competition  - To take place on November 16th at Bow Lane. Projects as follows: -

Ask Bernie Pike and Mrs Pike if they will be judges again? Colin to be asked about the individual project.

Badge Day - January 25th 2004 - The venue (22nd Wimbledon HQ) has been booked. Suggested bases to include: -

Cycle Cross - It was decided to postpone this event until 2004 at least and then review it later in the year.

County Report - No report as next meeting not until next week.

District Report - Liaison meeting has taken place between members of both Wandle & Wimbledon & Merton Districts. Awayday meeting for

all groups will be held on 27th September.  Diary dates to note, AGM 13th May 2004 and District camp @ Walton Firs, May Bank Holiday 2005.

Both Andrew, Michèle, Graham & Liz had met during the summer holidays to discuss future events etc. So far events for both districts will go ahead as planned, obviously these will have to be discussed further when the two districts have merged. St. George's Day & Sports Day will be held but extensive planning needed to ensure best venues etc are booked and arrangements made for increased size of district. Both DHQ's will be retained and the Wandle Badge/Uniform shop.

PROBLEM TIME
1. Andrew & Michèle have made various attempts to contact Duane at the 11th and anyone at the 26th but to no avail to date.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Brian Whalebone recommended the Scouts reunited site.

Store will open again tomorrow night.

Elayne Eves pointed out that Colin Pullen is still waiting for his wood beads. Michele said that she had bought the matter up at each executive meeting but will contact Colin and try to get Bob Prescott to bring the matter to some conclusion.

District Garage - still waiting for inventory.

Mandi wanted to know would we have a farewell party for the Wandle District?

Mia - there will be a quiz night at the 36th on 11th October.

36th HQ -there had been some problem with the council  concerning a possible road going right through it but this had been resolved.

Gang Show fliers had been issued.

Michèle had used the services of a Dad from the 7th Morden to run a scalextric evening for the cubs, information enclosed with these minutes.

There being no other business the meeting was closed at 9.38, the next meeting will be on November 12h at Wandle DHQ 20.00hrs for 20.15 start.

PACK REPORTS
5TH Morden -  Pack now back up to 36, 2 up from Beavers and 2 due to go up to Scouts. Had a weeks camp at Perrywood where 26 cubs attended, worked on air activities badge. Visited Gatwick Aircraft museum at Ian's suggestion and most cubs found it very interesting, worth a visit. Planning to work on emergency aid badge this term and various parts of the challenge badges. Sorry we won the sports and tug of war again but the boys were pleased.

20th Mitcham - 19 Cubs attend regularly - 3 have just gone into the Troop. 3 Cubs enjoyed a weeks camping with 6/12th, 4th & 36th + 8th Reigate - lots of good activities and outings. Commencing Global Challenge and Sports Enthusiast badges.
