Wandle District consists of 16 Groups and a Scout Fellowship with an approximate total membership of 800.
Wandle District was formed in May 1990 by the amalgamation of Mitcham District and Morden & St. Helier District.

The Wandle District Badge incorporates some of the features of the original badges of Mitcham and Morden. Paul Dimmock, the ADC(Scouts) at the time of the amalgamation, designed the badge in the form of a shield and included a new motto for the District.
The shield has a yellow background. This was selected because it is the background colour on the coat of arms of the Garth family. Richard Garth was Lord of the Manor of Morden in 1553. The Garth family were major landowners in Morden for over 300 years.

The top of the shield is divided to signify the two earlier Districts of Mitcham and Morden. The cross-keys of St. Peter and the sword of St. Paul represent Mitcham, this was included in the original badge. Saints Peter & Paul are the Patron Saints of Mitcham. This symbol also represents Mitcham on the Borough of Merton Coat of Arms.

Morden is represented by the Water Mill symbol. Early industry in Morden included flour milling, calico printing, snuff milling and leather & parchment work. All these industries required the use of the mill and water wheel. The water wheel was included in the original Morden District badge.

The wavy blue line through the centre of the shield represents the River Wandle which gives its name to the District.

The lower part of the shield is not divided and signifies the unity of Wandle District. In this instance the sprigs of lavender, again taken from the original badge, represent MItcham. Fields of lavender once covered most of Mitcham.

A black lion 'passant' represents Morden. This comes from the Garth coart of arms (three black lions passant on a yellow background). The black lion also features on the Borough of Merton coat of arms representing Morden.

Below the shield is a Latin motto "In Omnia Paratus" literally meaning "Prepared for all things".
